As featured in Miniguide – Sept 2014. http://miniguide.es/events/combo/
By now you’ll have heard of global community EatWith, the food-loving enthusiasts throwing doors open to supper clubs with culinary twists. Combo is the latest of their experimental projects and the idea is simple: chefs combine in an unusual setting and serve a course each.
Bourgeois bohemian, yet unpretentious, July’s launch saw the first Combo wrap lightbulbs around the enchanted garden of the Modernista 19th-century mansion Torre Amat, feeding a hundred in a Bacchanalian setting. From the Barcino wine and ceviche to the pork belly and katsudon, the players weren’t so much fighting as uniting.
For September, Combo goes back another hundred years for an 18th-century-inspired supper at chef Xavier Morón’s Hidden Factory plus three guest chefs. Refine your sobremesa (after-dinner banter) since dining-out-but-in is the new dining out.
